At LDI 2014, in Booth 2115, Philips Entertainment will be showcasing the award-winning products from Philips Selecon, Showline, Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Vari-Lite through “The Symphony of Light”. Starting at 11 AM each day, “The Symphony of Light” will feature the electronic violin styling of Elizabeth Bacher, and will fully demonstrate the power of the complete lighting and controls package from Philips Entertainment.

“This year our booth has been designed for both full lighting demonstrations and hands-on opportunities as well,” said Pete Borchetta Philips Strand Lighting Product Manager. “To give our visitors a completely immersive experience, the booth has been split into a number of different areas. First, there is the main stage for our ‘Symphony of Light’ performances. Next, we have two separate demo areas featuring our Vari-Lite and Showline luminaires in one and then our Strand Lighting controls and Selecon luminaires in the other. Plus, we have a number of interactive stations that will give everyone an opportunity to actually use our products for themselves. It’s going to be a great event.”

Additionally at LDI 2014, Philips Strand Lighting will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary of lighting innovation; a milestone unsurpassed by any other in the lighting industry today.

“Strand Lighting has made an invaluable impact on so many facets of the entertainment industry, and the changes it has gone through over the past 100 years have been remarkable,” said Julie Smith, Philips Entertainment General Manager of the Americas. “Words are difficult to capture the journey we have traveled, and not many companies can say they have touched and influenced the lives of so many people for 100 years. We are excited and honored to carry on this legacy into the future, and we hope everyone stops by at LDI to help us celebrate this momentous occasion.”

New Philips Entertainment products receiving their LDI debut include the Philips Vari-Lite VL4000 Spot luminaire, the Philips Strand Lighting NEO lighting control console with full accessories, the Philips Strand Lighting Emergency DMX Bypass Switch, and the Showline SL PAR 155 ZOOM.

The PLASA Innovation Award-winning VL4000 Spot luminaire from Philips Vari-Lite includes all the tools needed to create dynamic and useful lighting on any stage as every aspect of the luminaire has been designed with performance in mind. The 1200W VL4000 Spot boasts 33,000 lumens as well as a quiet Studio mode which outputs 25,000 lumens. Its high resolution optics ensure remarkable center-to-edge focusing and an unprecedented contrast ratio while a 5:1 zoom covers an amazing 9 to 47 degrees without sacrificing output or clarity.

The introduction of the NEO lighting control console marks a new chapter in the evolution of control from Philips Strand Lighting. NEO gives lighting designers and operators the ability to seize light; to grab, move, change color and motivate the lighting design simply and effectively. The NEO lighting control console is the closest that a designer can get to actually touching the light; encompassing the dreams and aspirations of both professionals and amateurs alike with the inclusion of many timesaving features that allow the user to program faster and more accurately. Now, Icons and Shutter controls are represented graphically on the display, saving time and presenting meaningful data to the operator.

Philips Strand Lighting’s 2014 PLASA Innovation Award-winning Emergency DMX Bypass Switch provides emergency and panic Lighting control solutions for DMX driven House lights and DMX controlled lighting used in emergency and egress situations. Each Bypass unit can handle up to four individual universes of DMX and can also act as a DMX splitter handling “1 in 4 out” or “2 in 2 out” routing scenarios with separate triggers for Panic situations as well. Each state, Panic or Emergency, can be set to trigger “snap shot” loads or can be set to drive all loads on each DMX path to 100%, and each state can also be triggered via normally open, normally closed dry contacts, or from a 12VDC signal.

The Showline SL PAR 155 ZOOM luminaire is a die-cast aluminum LED Par can that utilizes nine homogenized RGBW LEDs to produce over 3200 lumens of output. The manual zoom provides a beam angle range from 8 to 40 degrees and the split yoke bracket allows for easy hanging or floor mounting. The rugged construction, internal power supply, and ease of use make the SL PAR 155 ZOOM a natural replacement for conventional PAR fixtures. Whether illuminating stages, buildings, clubs, landscapes or other entertainment and architectural elements, the SL PAR 155 ZOOM provides designers with the highest output and best color uniformity.
