Peterborough, UK - Philips Lighting (Euronext Amsterdam: LIGHT), a global leader in lighting, announces Peterborough's Key Theatre has replaced its existing tungsten Fresnels with 36 energy-efficient Philips Selecon RAMA LED Fresnel luminaires to save on power and breathe new life into the popular venue's lighting system.

The new fixtures were supplied and fitted by entertainment technical specialist Stage Electrics, with whom the Key Theatre has a long standing relationship. Industry icon Sonny Sonnenfeld passes away at 96

Industry icon Sonny Sonnenfeld died today. He was 96. Beginning his career at a time when entertainment lighting was dominated by a small number of conventional lighting manufacturers, he saw the industry transformed several times over, by the advent of automated lighting and LEDs, among other developments. His passing represents the end of an era, when the major manufacturers had offices in Manhattan and sales reps had close personal relationships with the designers working on Broadway and in television.

Eisemann Center for Performing Arts has been one of the leading performance venues serving the Dallas/Fort Worth area, heralded not only for the performances inside, but also for the facility itself. Port Lighting Systems in Seabrook, NH, recently held its bi-annual open house and lighting trade show featuring the top lighting manufacturers from across the country and Philips Strand Lighting and Philips Selecon were on-hand to showcase their array of lighting, dimming and controls products. Themed as a Mardi Gras celebration, the recently expanded Port Lighting warehouse was transformed into a lively party using conventional, LED and automated lighting, along with digital projections, lasers and other special effects to create an event like never before.
